I don't have time to research it nor do I care to but I think that's the the deal. I don't think they stopped production either. Fender made the Modern Player line in China from about 2012 to 2015
Another good way to check is to see what else that seller is selling.. if that are selling some necks that aren't fender and some the are PLUS they have good reviews.. you're prob good.
